View *May Scraptastic Club Kit

Here's another layout using this months Scraptastic Club "After the Storm" kit , the add on kit and some of the stamps.  Have you looked at it yet?  just  CLICK HERE to take a look at the kit.

I took alot of photos of the Caribbean Beach Resort and one of the best things was that when you get up and walk to the main building of the resort, the view is just so great. I love all the different colored building units. The one across from us was my fave in the yellow, blue and white.

I pulled a bunch of embellishments that I liked for these photos and layered them in a column down the right side of the page over a block of kraft cardstock that I have embossed. The stamp set that I used for this page is the May "Destination Unknown" set. The little stars are stamped with an archival dye based ink and then I used a water brush with watercolor crayons. I stamped the "you are here" image on the graph looking pattered paper, cut it out and punched holes across the top so I could tear them as if they were torn from a spiral binding. Then if you look in the upper right there is a location icon that I stamped and cut out. Of course I had to add the cute Basic Grey Candy Buttons for the Mickey.

50 Years *Scraptastic Club May kit

I know I said this already but this months Scraptastic Club "After the Storm" kit and add on kit are awesome! I just love these papers and embellishments. You just have to CLICK HERE to take a look at the kit.

This month at Scraptastic, we are challenging ourselves to scrap a few of our older photos so I pulled a few from our Disney trip in '05. I decided to add a piece of light grey cardstock from my stash for this layout because my photos were taken when it was very overcast and I wanted them to really show up. During the 50th anniversary of Disneyland, Cinderella's castle at the Magic Kingdom in DisneyWorld was just beautiful with all of the floral swags and characters all in gold. I took a few close ups because I knew it was only there for the year.

For a bit of fun I have added stamped stars from the "After the storm" stamp set to my background and I heat embossed with white. I also embossed the "take note" from that same set on the grey tag for my journaling. Then I have added Basic Grey Candy Buttons from the kit just scattered with the stars. I wanted a bit of gold so I covered the chipboard numbers with gold craft glitter from my stash and also added a couple of dots of glue and glitter with the Candy Buttons.

PageMaps Colour Suite Challenge

As part of this months celebration of PageMaps 7th anniversary, they have joined a PageMaps sketch with one of the monthly Colour Suites and I got to play along! Check out the CHALLENGE here for a chance to win some Echo Park Paper goodies!

This is the sketch I used for my layout:

And I found the perfect blue, green, and yellows in Echo Park's "For the Record 2: Documented collection", pink from "Bundle of Joy: Girl" and grey film strip paper from "Oh Snap". I flipped the sketch and added some vintage buttons to the button jar that I cut from patterned paper.

Simple hand cut embellishments *Echo Park Paper

Hi everyone, I thought you might enjoy today's little blog feature on Echo Park Paper. Its a layout of mine that is really summery and has 4 very simple hand cutting ideas that will add that extra something to your layouts. ((SEE the full layout and feature HERE))

I thought I would share a little step out photo showing how simple the sunshine shape was to do. I always look thru my papers when I get a collection and look for designs that can be cut out. Well this sun burst is available in the 12x12 size too and that would be SO fun for a layout, but for this page I wanted just a small burst and the 6x6" is perfect.

Morning at MGM *BasicGrey Hipster

Here is the NSD layout that I completed yesterday with one of my favorite collections, Hipster by BasicGrey. I got the idea to xacto cut out parts of the patterned paper from one of the challenges on the BasicGrey blog yesterday. Don't forget to check out the blog for challenges and a chance to win.

I love these Star Metal Studs and the cute cute Wood Die Cuts. I had to scrap these photos because this is always what I see when I enter parks with my family. They always get thru the gates before me because they don't have bags to check like my camera bag. So I walk thru and they are staring at me all smug and they have to make a comment about it. LOL!

This Makes Me Smile **Scraptastic Club May Kit**

Here is my first layout using the bright and cheerful May "After the Rain" main kit and add on by Scraptastic Club. I love this kit so you are going to see me stretching it out big time. LOL! This first layout is featured on the Scraptastic Blog today to show how I embellished one of the exclusive die cuts that come in the kit - SEE IT HERE for additional step out photos.

Love Birds and BasicGrey NSD Challenge

Are you having fun with all the inspiration and challenges today? Well, this is one of my favorites. I created the sketch and layout for this NSD BasicGrey Blog Challenge HERE. Give it a try for a chance to win some great products, plus its just a fun sketch, I think.

I used BasicGrey's "Knee Highs" collection with element stickers, Candy Dots, and Bottlecap Stickers. If you haven't seen those cute embellishments in person, you really should check them out - they are just terribly cute and candy like. My aunt and uncle are terribly cute and when I took this photo on Easter I knew it might go with hilarious birdies in this collection.

So hop over to the BasicGrey's Blog for challenges all day long. There are some really great layouts and cards from the Design Team for inspiration.

Getting Buggy with BasicGrey Bow Ties

This layout is my example for Sketch #105 at SketchSavvy HERE. I have used BasicGrey's Bow Ties collection and can I just say that the colors and bugs seem made for "It's Tough to be a Bug" photos. Just look at the close up and notice what that bug sticker says, "cute as a bug...with a rug!" LOL! I seriously did this whole page just so I could use that sticker of the bug toupee.

I have added the little coordinating Bow Ties Candy Dots and Bottlecaps stickers because they are way too cute and there is a bug there too!

Echo Park NSD Challenge #1

Hey everyone - Happy National Scrapbook Day!!!

Are you ready to scrap? seriously - are you guys scrapping today? I am and I will be sharing layouts, sketches and fun things to do like THIS:

Echo Park Paper Blog is partying and you need to go check out the challenges for a chance to win some goodies! The first challenge is up: Create a card with a summer theme! I thought I would inspire you guys with my card using the Paradise Beach collection! LOVE this stuff. I got it last summer and just last week picked up another pack :) And yes, I know "ANOTHER SUNSHINE?!?" hey, its on a card not a layout. LOL!

What Goes Up ...

Hey are you all ready for National Scrapbook Day Weekend? Are you going to be cropping? I certainly am! I am also going to be sharing a few layouts and SketchSavvy Sketches with you over the next couple of days. I hope you will have time to play along.

For this layout I have used Sketch #104 from SketchSavvy HERE. I chose the "Collectable" collection by My Mind's Eye for my page about getting in the ride vehicles at Splash Mountain. There is nothing better than getting in and starting to float with the fun music, after you have just been in that queue for hours. The colors and those little pennant pieces really made the page come together.

Sketchy Thursday at Scraptastic

It's Sketchy Thursday on the Scraptastic Club Blog with this fantastic sketch by Jana Eubanks. This is one of this months challenges on the Scraptastic Blog, so check it out HERE and play along for a chance to be this months winner.

And for my example I have turned it on it's side so that I could use several photos. My sister is getting married this weekend so I am scrapping some pages for her about the journey before the wedding as well as the wedding. This might be one of the only times that it is fun to write a check - for gown alterations! They even drew diagrams for her so I included a photo of that as well. Can you believe how perfect the papers in this months Scraptastic Club "Awake My Soul" kit were for these difficult photos? I just love the navy and the gorgeous long pink pearl pins!

Now for my project. I used the Echo Park Paper "Oh Snap" Mini Theme collection along with the "Oh Snap" stamp set.  I also used this awesome May Arts ribbon in just the right coral color to coordinate. My son took this fantastic photo of Figaro when he was a kitten so the Oh Snap collection was just what I needed.

I used white embossing powder and heat embossed the doily design, cut it out and layered it to create an embellishment as well as a large scalloped border. The circle camera stamp in the upper left is just stamped with black ink to make a little embellishment and I stamped with a coral color for the chevron arrow designs on the background.

Thanks for stopping by, now Have Fun Hopping!
